Primer is not something that i use so often. I’ve never had a good experience using any kind of primers – it always gave me that cakey look that no one would like. OH! Except the face primer from Makeupforever; i loved this one, only. However a month ago, i don’t know why but, i grabbed this one from the drug store. Of course, I read lots and lots of good thing about this color correcting primer on other blogs ( prior to the purchase.) Maybe that’s why I unconsciously purchased it? Or maybe i felt like i need to cover up my redness around the nose?
Even though i don’t trust primer in general, i was pretty excited to try this one in particular just because of those good reviews. I haven’t read any single bad review on it. But, unfortunately i guess this post will be the one. Everybody knows that green primer/concealer covers up the redness on your skin. For the covering up the redness part, it did a great job on it. I liked it as it covered my redness with a small amount. It definitely brighten up whole skin, however brightened up too much, it looked so cakey and ghosty. Like the worst ever. I had to immediately go wash off as i couldn’t go outside with the face that look like a ghost. I thought maybe i need to do some prep before using it. So i tried to exfoliate my skin and etc. However, no matter what i do it just always give me that dirty cakey look.
This is one of items that I don’t use at all after the purchase. It’s just not for me. Color doesn’t match with my skin at all(i have tan-yellow undertone ; NC25) and also the finish of the primer isn’t my type. Maybe i will use this on Halloween, seriously..
Do any of you using this product? What’s your opinion and please do share if you found a color correcting primer that doesn’t leave you so cakey!
